Great espresso starts with great coffee beans—but not all great coffee makes wonderful espresso. The right beans, roast profile, and freshness make all the difference in pulling the perfect shot.
Our Espresso Story
In our roastery lab and office, we brew Koffee Kult Dark Roast for our daily espresso. This coffee was originally called "Espresso" when we first started, but we changed the name when we began selling online to better reflect its versatility.
We also grind Eye Cracker Espresso for both internal use and retail customers who want a specialty espresso blend with unique flavor notes.

What Makes Great Espresso?
Fresh Roasting
We roast to order, so your beans arrive at peak freshness. Fresh beans produce better crema and more vibrant flavors.
Proper Grind
Espresso requires a fine, consistent grind. We recommend grinding just before brewing for best results.
Quality Beans
We source premium, specialty-grade beans and hand-select each batch to ensure exceptional espresso quality.
Roast Profile
Our espresso-recommended coffees are roasted to develop the oils and flavors that create rich crema and full body.
Espresso Brewing Tips
Dial In Your Grind
Start with a fine grind and adjust based on extraction time. Aim for 25-30 seconds for a double shot.
Use Fresh Beans
Espresso is most forgiving within 5-21 days after roasting. Our fresh-roasted beans arrive in this optimal window.
Maintain Your Machine
Clean your portafilter, group head, and steam wand regularly for consistent results.
Water Temperature
Optimal brewing temperature is 195-205°F for proper extraction.
Beyond Traditional Espresso
All our espresso-recommended coffees also work beautifully in:
- Moka pots
- Aeropress
- Pour-over (for a bold cup)
- French press
