Where is the roast date on my coffee bag?

All coffee ordered directly from our website includes the roast date printed on the side of the bag. As an artisan coffee roaster, we want you to have the freshest coffee possible and understand that roast date information is important to many of our customers.

When do you roast and ship coffee?

We roast fresh coffee Monday through Friday and ship orders within 24 hours of roasting. In many cases, we ship coffee the same day it's roasted to ensure maximum freshness when it reaches you.

What about coffee freshness and optimal timing?

Coffee freshness is subjective, but we generally recommend:

• Minimum age: Allow coffee to rest 3-5 days after roasting for optimal flavor development
• Maximum age: Consume within one year of roasting for best quality
• Nitrogen injection: All our coffee is nitrogen-injected during packaging to preserve freshness

Why don't some Koffee Kult products have roast dates?

Coffee sold through distributors (found on retailer websites, not ours) does not include roast dates. This is because:

• Freshness preferences are subjective - some customers don't mind coffee that's 2+ weeks old, while others prefer it within days of roasting
• Distributor coffee is still fresh and high-quality, just without visible roast dates
• All distributor coffee is nitrogen-injected and not stored before packaging

How old is distributor coffee compared to direct-shipped coffee?

• Direct from our website: Shipped within 24 hours of roasting
• Through distributors: Typically 4-12 weeks old when it reaches customers
